My Sandakan Trip Day 1

It is in December now and it has been quite a tradition for me to go back to Sandakan, Sabah every couple of years. Although, Sandakan is not really the favorite place for a short vacation but it still has a place in my heart. I was born there and lived there for some times during my childhood but I don't really have lots of memories there as I was still young.

I had the luxury to travel there via Mas ( not promoting Mas Airlines ). The best part was definitely enjoying the food. Sitting at a tight space, make sure my arms were not intruding other passengers space and eating my brunch cautiously. The great thing about the packaging of the food is the materials used which is bio-degradable and it is still pipping hot when served.

Fast forward. Reached there at around 3pm and after some unpacking, I headed to a nearby park. This is what I found. If you think running a marathon is hard, try this!

It was dinner time. Well, you don't have to go fancy restaurant for great food. It is not all about packaging and presentation but the reputation and recognition from regular customers.

This is dinner. These are the freshest you can get. One moment the fish is swimming gracefully, the next moment it is the scrumptious dinner of mine. ( Oh, I am evil). By the way, you guys are not going to believe the price for this dinner including soup and a bottle of beer... Just guess!

I know the photo is blur. When food is there with a churning stomach, it just doesn't work  to get a sharp shot. ;-) Hey, stay tuned for next post, more on my trip.

Following The Right People on Twitter

Twitter is a great tool and it is simply amazing. Although Twitter gets a lot of attention but there are still a lot people not using it. I am not going to explain the whole 'how-to' use Twitter here.

So, if you are a Twitterer, you will definitely be following some and have followers too. Now the problem arises, following the right people and get followers that really care about your tweets is not an easy matter. You might following random people and hope that they will follow you back as a favor.

To get the most of Twitter is to follow people of same interest but you might not have a clear idea of individuals you wanted to follow and get the best information. There is program that actually help you to manage your Twitter account. It is Tweepi.

There are 4 branches under Tweepi.

Geeky Follow: Geeky allows you to actually find people of the same interests in Twitter.
                      Let say, photography, automobile, blogging....

Flush: Flush works by giving out the information of people you are following but at the
same time they are not following you back. So, you can basically reconsider
following the people by looking at their information.

Reciprocate: This is the vice versa of Flush. This shows your followers that you are not
                    following them.

Cleanup: I love this. They are people in Twitter just talk nonsense, never Retweet and
make you feel annoyed... Use cleanup to unfollow them!

By the way, are you following the whole craps above?
Nevermind, you can always follow me here...

What is the meaning of LAH?

Wouldn't it be just weird if we are not using the word 'lah' in our daily conversation, the Malaysians style. My friends and I were attending a talk few days ago and during a break we were just chatting as usual with the 'lah', Malaysians 'mah' what you expect. (-:

So, there were some international students (I.S) sitting in front of us and I guessed they were intimidated and curious about the 'lah' word.

I.S : Hey, what is the meaning of 'lah'?
Me: (my mind was are you kiddin') Oh, 'lah' pretty much has no meaning it is just how we use it like an accent in our daily conversation.
I.S : Are you sure?! ( looked disbelief)
Me: Yup, it is how Malaysians normally speak...
Friend: (telling the I.S ) But it is grammatically wrong and if possible don't practice it
Me: Although it is wrong but it will be so much comfortable when speaking using 'lah'
I.S : Oh, so practically you use 'lah' at the end of every sentence 'lah'? ;-)
Me: Yeah, sort of this 'lah'.... hahahah

So, what you think of the infamous 'lah' that is used at our daily conversation? ^^

2012

There are lots of speculations about this movie even before the release. So, is the world going to end at 2012? that is the million dollars question and the main reason people watch this movie.

This is definitely not a movie pack with information about the apocalypse that will bored people to death. However, I think this movie kind of portray how people will be very selfish when the situation is very demanding. At the same time, I just realized how significant the size of your bank account (think bigger) can secure your legacy when apocalypse is coming.
At certain point in the movie you do wonder if 2012 is true. First the economics crumble, wars, genocides and massive pollution around the world. Personally, I think the coolest part in the movie is when Jackson ( John Crusack ) running towards the plane after getting the map. Got to watch in HD!
Well, the whole movie is not so sombre after all, there are humorous parts too. Overall, I did enjoy watching this movie because it truly reflects the characteristics of human. I do recommend 2012 for those looking for something fresh and heart gripping. ;-)

Melaka 1st International Bike Festival

It was Malacca 1st International Bike Festival last Saturday. Actually, 'international' is just an over statement. I am not a huge fan of fancy bikes with super tall handle but I do love the rumbling sound of the bikes though.

Fancy for some Harley Davidson?

These riders really take the cleanliness of their bikes seriously.

Was trying panning this shot but I was too close and the speed of
the bike was way too slow for panning.

I am just making an assumption that majority of these riders don't speed like Mat Rempit.
All of sudden, feel like Mat Rempit are crash test dummies riding on can drinks.

#1 This is a film camera used by my Dad long time ago. The sad part is that this particular camera is not functional anymore due to some damages. I choose this shot because of the beautiful structure of this camera and knowing that my Dad and I also share the passion.^^

#2 Hiroshi Motofuji. That is the drummer performed in Rainforest World Music Festival 2008. I attended the wonderful music festival last year and memories still lingering in my mind. Ok, I choose this particular shot because of his fantastic spirit and passion while performing. There was a session where fellow drummers performed and although there is language barrier between the drummers but I guess they speak one similar language-MUSIC.

#3 Yup, that is me. I find it rather pathetic when I was looking back at the photos I have taken and there is just limited photos of me. So, most of my self portrait will either be weird or the camera will be in the shot. Most of the times, I took self-portrait because it portrayed my feeling during that particular moment. ;-)

Photobucket
#4 I took this shot some times ago and I still love looking at it because he is my lovely cousin and I do miss him. The main reason this shot is chosen is the expression of his face and how he put his tongue out. I mean why are we so serious in life and stress out. Be cheerful like a child and things are not so complicated all the times. ^_^

The Lifeless Horses

It has almost been a week since I blog because I have nothing really interesting to share. Well, that might be an excuse but I just don't like to blog something that I truly don't like. At least, this is my blog where I could just post craps and still be satisfied.

I love to put photos in every single post. Why? The reason is that I am not that good in writing and I am afraid that you will probably go away after reading my post pack of words and just boring words.

So, couple of weeks ago I was at (kinda of hard to get it). It is Palace of the Horses... Hotel of the Horses... I get it- Palace of the Golden Horses
